Hello Ian, Warren and fellow brother CB'ers of yesteryear;

This entry might be a tad tramactic for me...confessing here
and there... :)

<< Quoting KB2VXA to CB @WW >>

Count Ian the Rig Doctor bloodsucker of UK CB'ers ....no wonder
he had'em coming and going, and was in great demand...mostlikely
a harem of vampire sucking ladys of the night too ????

I have never seen really anyone that can replace Bela Lugosi.
They all have their individual merit. What I liked about Bela
was he was in a few other movies, and I think we all wondered
when he would adopt and change into his famed character.

I saw him in one movie...and I can not remember the title, as I
happened to arrive on channel when in progress...but he was an
excellent actor in the flick, and I am surprised they < hollywood>
never got him in others.

Have to also remember the years of the 1930s and well today, lots
more technology to help actors act.

There is something that dings a bell. In Toronto, our version of
"The Crusher" was the same voice, but only for some reason after
12mindnight ...and only on CH 21 ? He called himself < or they...given
Warren's version> as Mr. Death ...and it was chilling. He had a
cult following in Toronto... CH 21 ... even freaked out the local
version of the Devil who called himself Satan and his wackos.

This went on from 1970s and well no clue if going now...but I left
in 1980... un-announced that was it. Tower came down... sets were
sold no more CB... No more radio <<< Famous last words >>>.

Warren..I loved that item about the ham friend, and his grabbing the
chair in total collapse.... We ...and I had friends like that in
Toronto 1960s to when I moved, were not above doing thst too...
Oh dod I ever remember the Viking Valiant...one for sale so close to
me...and another of our group had the Collins 32V.. <i think it was
called> but they also had their fun on the air...and some of their
stuff, was my stuff previuosly recorded...and well now...here and
there played back.

I would have loved to heard it...or known you guys back then...
It was real entertainment...no one was hurt, and all in fun.
<< No our version of the FCC...hated it...hunted in vain too.>>

> To borrow the intro from an old TV show... There are eight million
> stories in The Naked CB, this is one of them.

aaaah love it. One of my contributions to radio, was while at
the 50K station in Toronto, and enjoying the show behind the scenes
at the station...as what went out was...nothing to what went on inside
as you well know, as you did the same. Our CB outlet was on the
roof and we weven had a CB call....but well my thing was doing
voices...some made it into a tape system somewhere...and were used
as well I would call up people and use it, and well ....there was
only one complaint ... someone's wife was ticked off with me
waking her up....as her husband was giddy in glee hearing the
voice of one of our famed operators...a little old lady in Toronto
who made weekends entertaining...so much so...it was a weekly event
to see what she would do next.

Yes...I matched her voice to a tee...and despite her being deceased
these years, I did revive the voice for my long time CB pal in Toronto
who I found the Sonar for .... I called him with her voice...and
well that is ...mmmmm....leave it there :)
