Well that is interesting, as we passed the CB fad to the
"in thing" of having a cellphone, and oh yeah, Maria wants
one of those too. Also one for me...why I haven't a clue.

First mobile telephone, I ever saw was something like a
handset but the radio....now that was impressive, sitting
in and filling the trunk <boot> of the car. Weight ...
well over 100lbs.

Back to the XYL's and YL's on cell or as you say , further
back CB. We had a few, and even today, and especially
yesterday during my trip I was HF , one of my ham contacts
was telling me, how he has two towers, one for his wife's
CB .....which tied all together.

On the days, I do leave my hermit's life here, and walkabout
or drive the chariot, I see nothing but people playing with
their cells. Walking aimlessly and driving, to and fro,
and clueless about all about them. There is no wonder
they get hit in taffic ...which makes me wonder what the
other person hears when one get hit? "Click" "Splat"
with visions of the latest blabbox blowing apart on
contact.

Oh BTW Ian....I have other comments....but then you being
our lone bachelor CB guy...well you can make'em...as I
get crowned by my gal if I say the wrong thing.

Oh well...another pile of wood coming today...so have to
tootle off and get ready for the truck coming into the
yard....< wonder if he has his ears on? >
