Hello Barry VK2AAB and thanks for joining this topic, and
I hope you don't mind me changing it to CB @WW.

I remember the Autralian School of the Air, and it on
that TV show the Flying Doctor, which was long before
we got CB ... and the radio was rather bulky and
perhaps in some caes army surplus, and excellent
for the purpose.

When Ian G0TEZ mentioned Prince Charles on a Presient brand
set... I never saw it, but remember this older pre-CB
radio combo at a home...and it wasn't a CB set...

Better way by far... audio and visual.

I think you are right on with that info, Barry.

Yeah...I say you are right. Look at the advantage of having
a HF set in those days. Many might be hams, and how convienent
for the son or daughter with dad's help to tune the radio
down to a HF frequency close to 80m for the school.

Great savings there. Inexpensive too.

Thank you so much for that input. You would not happen to
remember that "Flying Doctor" series on TV would you? I
remember this rather large plane and I can see in my mind
the leading actor ...who must have been really local as
never seen him again..or since...and the series ...well
it was in the B&W days.

Anyhow thanks.... see you again. 73 Pete VE3WBZ
