K7EK/B in CN87 has changed frequency. It is now on 28250.0. I have joined the
250-Net, which is a group of synchronized beacons. K7EK/B now transmits at
:40 seconds of each minute. Please note that there are multiple beacons on
28250.0 in different parts of the country. Please park on 28250.0 and listen
for awhile. You will know very quickly whether the band is open and to where.
The network of synchronized beacons is using the ESS Synchronized Freakin'
Beacon board, which uses a GPS to synchronize the time.
Reception reports are welcome. You can send them to me via packet, email,
DX cluster spots, etc.
Don't forget: If everyone is listening, how will you know the band is
open? (besides listening to the beacon segment of course). Make calls
from time to time and see what you come up with. You may be pleasantly
surprised by what ten meters can produce on a seemingly dead band.
73,
Gary
