0400Z	28.188	JE7YNQ	579
Wall to wall pirates on AM and FM from north east.Probably Indonesian.
0800Z	all gone. Band apparently dead.

50 mHz: Nothing heard but a babyminder on 49.830 complete with domestic
background sounds at 9+ about 20 dB. This I traced to a street about 1
mile away.I thought of investigating further with a view to asking the
owners if they minded broadcasting their domestic conversations to the
whole of this suburb but then I thought "What the heck! Probably noone
else can hear them anyway unless 50 megs opens wide."

Well, all I can say is that IF there were any amateurs listening on 28
besides me I could have had at least CW contacts with 3 Australian states,
Japan and YB on 28.

CW is the mode for serious DXing on 28 and above for sure. My last
episodes of DX working internationally on 50 have all been CW with no SSB
signals strong enough. I don't want to restart any old debates on the
relative merits of CW and other modes. I am just stating what I know to be
fact in this part of the world!! Live with it!
Cheers,
Bob VK6BE.
