The BEACONs rig:
10m: TRX (ex-CB box) "Midland 77-104" 2.8 watts PEP CW, antenna 1/4 verti-
cal with SWR 1.1:1, the top is 14m above ground (85m above sea level), 12m
coax RG-58. Coax connection without balun.
15m: TRX (ex-CB box) "PACE CB-143" 4 watts PEP CW Xtal, antenna dipole in
diagonal position (#12 copper wire, stretched N-S, north [+] elevated),
SWR 1.3:1 11m above ground (6m above roof), 15m coax RG-58. Coax connection
without balun.
30m: TX homebrewed 1.6 watts PEP CW Xtal (oscillator: BC337; driver: BD139;
power: 2SC1969), antenna 30m horizontal dipole (old emended thin copper
wire, stretched ENE-WSW[+]) with SWR 1.1:1 (the position of the antenna is
favourable to north-south signals after Porto Alegre) 11m above ground, 20m
coax RG-58. Coax connection without balun.
The circuits are very plain, so some power/frequency drifts are expected.
Some features are estimated, as close as possible to the reality. NO batte-
ry and sometimes unattended = subject to failure.
The BEACONs are turned on ONLY when PC + station are idle.
PC: Am5x86 133MHz; Software: HamComm 3.1; CWID keyer: transistor BD139 on
COM2.
