Ladies and Gentlemen,
We have a new problem!
For some time now there has been a beacon on 18.068 MHz signing IK6BAK.
Since it's exactly at the band edge, it hasn't caused much QRM. However, in
my opinion it should be turned off or moved much higher in the band where
it wont QRM DX operations (especially DXpeditions).
Now comes a new potential source of DX QRM. On Wednesday (January 31st) I
noticed a beacon signing HB9TC on 18.068.8 MHz! This will definitely affect
those DX stations operating near the bottom of the band and listening up.
I hope some of our Swiss DX'ers (who may be on this reflector) can help us
to remove this station before it becomes a trend. If we don't stop the
HB9TC beacon now, who will start operating a beacon 18.069 MHz or higher
tomorrow?
73,
Joe, W1JR
