Hi .....

The following beacons have been observed for some time now and I am
wondering if anyone out there can throw some light on their origin and
service.

1) On 28081.684 - a ten second dash ends with morse "ABE".
Period between transmissions - 2 minutes 40 seconds.
Noticeable drift during transmission of 16 Hertz down.
Heard during the mornings in UK and gradually fading out.

2) On 28081.974 - a ten second dash with no morse ident.
Period between transmissions - as above.
Noticeable drift during transmission of 38 hertz down.
Heard during the afternoons in UK.

Both transmission have been seen around the midday when both have
shown up on the waterfall display clearly before item 1 (above) had
faded.

Reason for my observation of this 28081.800 frequency is, it is one of our
Coherent BPSK spots and I constantly monitor it and others for possible
activity.

Any information regarding the above would be of great interest and
possible indications of band openings/conditions if I knew their origins.

Rgds - Vic.
