SOME SENSE (?)
Here we see comment from Bill G0MFW regarding the "spoof" that was
perpetrated recently regarding the existence of the word "gullible".
David G4EBT may wish to recognise that IF there was a need for an apology,
which he had offered to provide, there probably was no good done in the
first place by promulgation of the particular bulletin in question.
My perception, based on the reply (below) from Bill G0MFW, is that he is
probably a fairly easy-going person and one that gets along well with
people.
He obviously can also take a joke.

I'm not complaining at all David, in fact I had a good giggle about it.
If I'd had any complaints I should have said so before now.
Actually I fell for the joke hook, line and sinker and was a tad
embarrassed but soon got over that. I am a bit gullible at times!
No apology needed whatsoever. "

Bill did, however, admit to having been embarrassed, at least to some
extent.
I personally don't see that there should be a need to embarrass anyone in
such a way as to try and make them look stupid. We can all be stupid in
some ways at some time in our lives without needing stupid acts on the
part of other people to add to the situation.
However, others were "fooled" by this "smart ass" incident and it could
well be that they do deserve an apology.
There certainly were some uncalled for comments regarding any who were
taken in.
I did not get taken in to the extent that I did not bother to look the
word up in any dictionary. However, I may well have done so if I had not
been quite so busy with other things that matter more.
I must admit that I was somewhat incredulous at the content of the
original bulletin and that apparently a person, such as the author, should
be so stupid as to place such garbage on the Packet Radio Network.
By the way, I knew nothing of Bill G0MFW and did not act as a
self-appointed mentor for him" as per the accusation made by David G4EBT.
I simply saw the whole thing as being in very poor taste and only spoke
out after others had complained.
OK. If the "Pommie" boys wish to try and embarrass their "friends" there
in "G" land, well and good. They can sort it out amongst themselves.
However, please try and retain such rubbish within your own circles rather
than involve everyone else.
We saw enough of the constant harping, bitterness and rudeness etc.
between a number of these "G" callsign characters and some USA operators.
I again suggest that some of you ought to GROW UP !
Regards.
