I don't care what you read, Ian. What was written may or may not be
followed at the whim of the leaders. I know from churchmen who escaped and
came out here that religion may not have been banned officially but life
was made pretty difficult for anyone who happened to be Christian. I know
also of the rejoicing among the people when the Soviet regime fell and
they were free to practise their faith again as they wished without being
"supervised" by the State.
