Amsat India wishes AX3ITU success
---------------------------------
Use of the new Hamsat to celebrate the ITU's birthday by Australian special
event station AX3ITU on 17 May has been enthusiastically welcomed by
Amsat-India which is waiting to hear the results of the exercise.

Amsat-India's Secretary Pop VU2POP says in an email to Amateur Radio
Victoria "It's great news to hear that a special event station will be
operating via Hamsat on the occasion of the 140th birthday of the ITU on
the World Telecom Day.

"We in VU would be out of the window for your special event station,
however I on behalf of the Amsat India and ISRO wish you a great success
and many
memorable contacts via the Hamsat."

Pop VU2POP wished the "best of memorable QSOs" and Amateur-India is looking
forward to reports of the activity.

Noel Ferguson VK3FI of Mildura in north-west VK3 will be activating AX3ITU
and looking for contacts on Hamsat VO-52 using a fixed transmit frequency
without doppler correction at 0045, 1237 and 2335 UTC, 17th May.

A team of 16 Amateur Radio Victoria members will activate AX3ITU on HF and
through Hamsat VO-52. A commemorative QSL is available direct to VK3WI or
via the bureau.
