Then came the usual insults....
Thank you for a new word. I'm sure it will find it's way into the OED.
Those shonkies who criticised tou don't live in the real world.
Lots of Brits watch the Aussie soaps. My XXYL waqtched Neighbours, and even
recorded the omnibus edition on Sunday. Then, one day. I spotted a
programme about schoolkids, but not the evill, scruffy kids we had in
programmes like Grange Hill, which we probably sent you. These kids were
well dressed and polite.
It turned ot the programme was the the one aboy Summer Bay.
She was already well into Cell Bock 'H'.
Millions like her watched such rubbish.
There are plenty of programmes about the real Australia. I think.
Many show people out in the bush, being taught to eat 'bush tucker' by
their well paid aborigine guides.
We have even learnt that we are not supposed to call Ayer's Rock, by that
name anymore.
We have programmes about ectreme sports up near Brisbane.
Finallay, we have programmes about those nice boys who celebrate their pride
in Sydney. (Not going there!)
All the above are probably just as unrealistic as Neighbours.
At least Oz sent us one very nice export. Kylie.
All the best. Ian.
