Well, Peter, it's a long time ago now but I am sure I saw half crown coins
in the 1920s. I don't think my memory is playing tricks. It may be however
that these were English coins as there were some English florins
circulating through the large number of English migrants who were coming
out here at the time. My grandmother came out in 1929. I remember an
English florin was worth about 2/6 in OZ at the time.
