 Hello all.

The WOEFUL debacle has served a useful purpose but it is time to stop now.
I think the G6KUI event has been settled in 2 days.
The good achieved includes the following points...

1 Most are agreed and united in the need to cull out bad language and the
general denegration of others in AR - Bad-mouthing in more modern terms.
Sadly there will be a few who can not see that what may be "legally" ok
and in that sense, permitted, is not desirable nor compulsory. The rest
of us do not have to condone it and mindlessly pass it on.

2 If there is a real case that any area, such as Austraila, is showing it
consistently fouls the AR nest, in a serious way, then send quiet SPs
to the home BBS sysops to verify and discuss. One slip does not make an
operator totally foul-mouthed, as was made out in the recent case.
Be prepared to back up your allegations quickly and be slow to condemn.

3 Clearly 99% of operators have NOT approved the bickering processes. Why
not ask the bad-mouth artists to ease up or shut up and eventually make
them see sense for the general good? Yes that is discrimination.

I was not keen to read the WOEFUL stuff prior to the 3rd of Aug. If I did
not follow the thread fully in the stages before the crazy attack on 6BE,
then I have possibly missed some (valid?) points. It seemed to me there'd
be a chance that some serious bad language has come from VK, in the past.

If there is evidence, supply it honestly and decently. It seems many ops
out here have consistently failed to notice it, which is hard to explain,
since we get bulletins sent @WW throughout VK, from VK. We'll fix it 'cos
 we don't like it either.

Lastly, I have probably enjoyed packet ops more recently, than for yonks,
purely because of some quite fortuitous on-going packet mail between WA &
eastern Russia where packet prevails over expensive email and lousy phone
line speeds. The daily trivia and some technical exchanges have been good
and we're grateful to all who maintain the links for us. If more ops made
the effort to use packet to help / advise or seek help it would kick this
potentially simple but useful mode into a far better modus operandi.

I hope the above is not too easily misinterpreted.

Also I hope the pommies over there will go gently on us... FAIR GO!!
They may well beat us in the next test cricket series.
