ANNOUNCEMENT
ARRL/VEC TEST SESSION; US FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS
COMMISSION (FCC) AMATEUR RADIO EXAMINATIONS
IN PEINE NEAR HANNOVER/GERMANY
The PPP VE-team offers examinations for the U.S. FCC amateur radio
licenses (all elements) in Peine near Hannover.
EXAMINATION DATE: Saturday, March 10, 2001
TIME: 09.00 hrs local (a.m.);
we start sharp, so please be there early.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
1. Retesting of failed elements the same day is not normally offered
at our test sessions. We may make an exception to this policy
only if time permits.
2. Make sure you have a U.S. mailing address in order for your FCC
paperwork to be processed. The FCC will not mail your license
to a non-US address!
3. Anyone may participate in the exams. Neither the US-citizenship,
nor a USA residence permit are required. As a German citizen, you
are not required to hold a German license to obtain a US FCC
amateur license. However, a US license held by a German citizen
might not automatically be recognized by the German authorities
to obtain a German license.
4. Our Morse code exams are "Fill in the blank" format.
YOU ARE REQUIRED TO BRING :
1. a legal photo identification (i.e. driver's license,
"Personalausweis" or passport)
2. the original AND a copy of any current FCC license
or CSCE. We do not have copying services available.
3. All necessary documentation to register electronically
with the FCC database (TIN/ATIN).
4. The test fee of $10.00 or the equivalent in German Mark
(the fee is subject to change)
HOW TO FIND US:
From the North, West or East:
leave the motorway A2 at exit Peine, use the B 444 direction Hildesheim
(South), leave Peine, remain on the B 444 until you see the tower of the
fire-brigade ("FTZ") on the right hand side, turn left towards Braunschweig
(East), take the next exit to the right (direction Ilsede), again take
the next exit to the right over the bridge towards the hospital
("Krankenhaus"), continue on this road and pass the main entrance of
the hospital until the road turns right, follow the road, first entrance
on the left is the German Red Cross.
From the South:
Leave the motorway A7 exit Hildesheim Drispenstedt, follow the B 494
towards Peine, as soon as you see the tower of the fire-brigade ("FTZ")
turn to the right towards Braunschweig (East), take the next exit to the
right (direction Ilsede), again take the next exit to the right over the
bridge towards the hospital ("Krankenhaus"), continue on this road and
pass the main entrance of the hospital until the road turns right, follow
the road, first entrance on the left is the German Red Cross.
