Ariane flight V78 : launch of TELSTAR 402 R
The 78th Ariane launch is scheduled to take place on Friday
22 September 1995.
An Ariane 42 L version equipped with 2 liquid propellant
boosters (PAL) , lifting off from the Guiana Space Center, the
European space port in Kourou, French Guiana, will place into
geostationary transfer orbit the american telecommunications
satellite TELSTAR 402R.
The launch window opens at 09:06 hrs p.m and closes at
09:53 hrs p.m., Kourou time (00:06 hrs a.m. - 00:53 hrs a.m.
GMT ; 02:06 hrs a.m. - 02:53 hrs a.m. Paris time/CEST).
TELSTAR 402 R is a telecommunications spacecraft built by
Lockheed Martin Astro Space for AT&T, USA. The spacecraft
will provide DBS, Vsat, TV distribution and
telecommunications service in C- and Ku- band. The
spacecraft will be positioned at 89ø West.
