Hello to all....
....Worst of Rainfall is over, however, more rainfall and isolated
thunderstorms will affect the region today slowing the recession of flood
waters. At this time, thunderstorms are not expected to be severe but that
will be monitored...
....County based flood warnings have expired. River Flood Warnings continue
for many main stem rivers in Southeast New Hampshire and Northeast
Massachusetts....
....A Flood Watch Continues through Tuesday Afternoon for Essex, Middlesex,
Suffolk, Norfolk, Worcester, Northern Bristol and Western Plymouth Counties
of Massachusetts, Kent and Providence Counties in Rhode Island and
Hillsborough County in New Hampshire through Tuesday Afternoon....
....Coordination with NWS Taunton indicates that SKYWARN Spotters and
Amateur Radio SKYWARN Spotters should continue to report rainfall for this
event and for the month and any new flooding issues via webform or spotter
line. At this time, NWS Taunton Ops are not requested though it will be
monitored in case new county based flood warnings are issued as that would
necessitate more NWS Taunton Ham Radio Operations. Massachusetts State EOC
and Region I RACES will remain active to support recovery operations....
Rain will continue today but the worst of the rainfall should be winding
down for the region. Rain and embedded thunderstorms will continue today as
the upper level low begins moving passing through Southern New England
today. Rain will be heavy in any embedded thunderstorms but the areas of
precipitation are moving more quickly and that will help to mitigate the
threat of additional rainfall from causing renewed flooding but it will
prolong flooding along main-stem rivers and slow the progression of rivers
and roads that are flooded from receding.
All county based flood warnings have expired but River Flood Warnings
continue for many main stem rivers. Please see the following link for the
latest information on the River Flood Warnings:

A Flood Watch will continue for Eastern Massachusetts from Northern Bristol
and Western Plymouth Counties of Massachusetts north and west through
Worcester County, North-Central Rhode Island and Southeast New Hampshire
through Tuesday Afternoon. It would take rainfall of 1.4-1.8 inches in 6
hours to cause renewed flooding over areas that have receded. Anything less
will cause flood waters in areas that are flooded to recede more slowly and
slow the recession of rivers already in flood.
At this time, the severe weather risk appears low though a few
thunderstorms may contain small hail. If conditions remain cloudy, the
threat for severe weather will be mitigated. This situation will be
monitored.
Latest coordination with NWS Taunton indicates that NWS Taunton Ops are not
needed at this time but could be needed if county based flood warnings are
issued or if any threat for severe weather increases. This will also be
monitored throughout the day today. Please report monthly rainfall of 11"
or more and event totals of 5" or more to NWS Taunton today via webform,
spotter line or you may email me directly for relay into NWS.
Below are the Flood Watch Statement, Hazardous Weather Outlook, latest
Public Information Statement on rainfall reports and the Local Storm Report
that covers flooding from Monday only:
Respectfully Submitted,
Robert Macedo (KD1CY)
