Hi all. I wonder if anyone out there either owns an A7000 or has access to
one. I'd like to find out if it can display 640 x 480 in 32 thousand colours
outside the desktop. I did mention this a while ago but had no replies.
In an effort to simulate an A7000, I've been playing around with the Acorn
MakeModes utility on my Risc PC in an effort to create a suitable monitor
definition file (for the AKF60) using no VRAM. I haven't managed it yet, as
the bandwidth requirement always seems to be too high and is shown in red in
the MakeModes window. However, all the other parameters are within limits,
so maybe it would work OK. If I get desperate I might be tempted to
temporarily remove the VRAM from my Risc PC and give it a try.
Just a reminder that "PSCAN" - my SSTV program for the Risc PC using a
simple serial port interface - is available free of charge by sending me a
formatted 1.6MB ADFS disk and SAE. I have sent out 6 disks so far and have
had very favourable comments. My address is:-
Paul Turner, 61 Primley Lane, Sheering, Bishops Stortford, Herts CM22 7NH.
