Subject: [aprssig] Balloon Launch, Friday, May4th,9:00am

FYI, from the Battleship New Jersey Amateur Radio Station, NJ2BB.
********************************************

The 2nd high altitude balloon launch date is quickly approaching. Here is
an update on the plan:

The launch is planned for Friday 5-4-07 about 0900. Weather is expected to
be excellent for the launch. (Mostly sunny and highs around 70.)

The payload will carry the following amateur transmitters:

APRS Call sign will be NJ2BB-11 (which is the standard SSID for balloons)
Transmitting on 144.390.

QRP Beacon Call sign is NJ2BB and transmits on 146.565 at 15WPM MCW.

The approximate launch location is: 39.99N -076.54W

Flight path predictions will be posted to the list later this week.

If this balloon reaches 80,000 feet or so, the line of sight path is well
within reach of NJ/PA/DE/MD so hopefully we'll have some reception reports
from BNJARS members. Assuming the hardware works as designed you can also
track the balloon using www.map.findu.com/nj2bb-11
