Neat!

Is there an up-to-date listing of FINDU CGI's, because I cannot find the
Igate one listed on the normal FINDU page I ususally look at first as my
reference:

http://www.findu.com/cgi.html ?

Thanks

Can you add a map to it?

Thanks

The Astro has been talked about on the APRS SIG, too.

Is anyone sure it's compatible with the RINO? From the literature I've
seen, it appears not to be.

As I've said before: I question it's pratical, ethical, and legal use
when actually using dogs for hunting.

The second map is the present position.

IMHO, the trick would be to skip the dogs and put the tracker on the deer...
I'm not in favor of hunting dogs... deer taste better anyway. lol

SkyCommand Mystery solved by Byon, KB9LNC:

>I am certain that while I was experimetneting with Sky-
>Command, that I could just change bands by simply entering
>a new frequency on another band. And it would go there.
>At first, it did not work... Then it did for a while,...

Byon says you have to shut down the RX link (on VHF using the #2 key) to
change Bands. Tried it and it works! That also explains why sometimes it
worked and sometimes not. So now SkyCommand is fully operational with
multiple users in the local area. Now all I gotta do is buy an automatic
antenna tuner before I let anyone transmit.

See system:
http://www.ew.usna.edu/~bruninga/USNAremoteHF.html

You ask, why not control it over the internet? Well, because I think HAM
radio is an RF kinda thing. Being able to monitor HF from my D700 via
SkyCommand while I am in the mobile is kinda neat. Actually, this just
adds to the things one can do on the heads-up front panel of their D7 or
D700:

1) Send and receive Email (via APRS MSG to EMAIL)
2) Send and receive WinLINK email (APRS-link system)
3) Query the QRZ database (via APRS MSG to SAQRZ)
4) See Freqs/loc's of local VOICE repeaters while traveling
5) See alerts to local nets and hamfest objects
6) See traffic info from APRS-TRAFFIC alerts
7) Remotely OPERATE any public SKYCOMMAND RADIO!
8) Oh, and APRS (positions, messages, Igates, FINDU, etc)

OK, you come to Texas and put trackers on the deer that we both like. I'll
get up early in the morning and give you half of my take. You get to sleep
in.

Anyone else getting two coppies of the "Digest" the last two days? The
25th and 26th of Feb.

If so, why?

What happened to the discussion on the use of barcode scanners to record
data and put it over the network?

I don't recall what all the potential uses were, but i have an idea for
another potential use... I would need some help implementing it, but first
I need to know if the barcode thing was ruled out of the realm of
"usefulness" before i pursue it any further.

thanks

It works. I played around a bit with a Tracker2 prototype and a barcode
scanner. I can print barcodes and scan them to change configuration
settings, send messages, set the position, and so forth. What do you want
to do?
