There are exclude filters (filter with a - prefix) that can be used prevent
certain packets from showing up. Can you give an example packet? I know
these objects are found on FireNet, but they should not be showing up on
APRS-IS. Let us know which server and port you are connecting to, as well.

You could filter them out by adding an object filter...

- o/name1/name2/name* etc.

If the objects all start with h2o you could filter them out with - o/h2o*
Note the "-" that makes it filter out the objects instead of adding them.
This is assuming you are using a "port 14580" APRS server that allows
you to use a filter. I would think that you could use - b/h2o* as well.

The above would stop the data from being even sent to you. An alternative
approach would allow the data to be sent to you but you could use the
exclude / include list (under setup) to prevent them from being displayed.
Again, if the objects all start with h2o you could just ad h2o* to the
exclude list on the left and enable it down at the bottom and "OK" your
way out from there.

Method one would reduce your bandwidth needs. Method two would allow
you to toggle them on and off.

Method three? You could "edit translations" and have them all show e.g. G
instead of the proper object name. They would still be on your map. They
would just have a shorter label. This would require entering all of them in
the list. Sorry... wild cards not accepted!

Maybe one of the Paccomm models might work for you. Kind of pricey but
small. I don't know if their firmware is up to date for aprs digi or not. I
have a HandiPacket that I bought used at a reasonable price and use in kiss
mode with UI-View32 for mobile aprs. <http://www.paccomm.com/>

I have Tracker2 prototypes in the same form factor as the OpenTracker.
Smaller, actually, since without the header pins it's only a few mm thick.
Trouble is, about half of the units I've assembled don't work. I think
it's because one of the oscillator traces got rerouted by the autorouter
and I didn't notice before having the boards made. Feeding it an external
clock signal works every time, but on the units that won't start by
themselves, no amount of trace cutting and jumpering or jiggering the load
capacitors seems to make it work reliably.

If you don't mind having to come up with an external 32.768 kHz clock
signal, it should work fine. Otherwise you'd have to take your chances
with a flaky oscillator.

Keith, NO space between the hyphen and the letter o

:-)

It should be like "-o/h2o*" no quotes of course..
