Power Mac G3 Installer Now Available

PowerPC Linux is very excited to announce the availability of an updated
installer for Power Mac G3 comptuers. The installer file is available on our web
site. You may need to hold down the option key to properly download this file.

ftp://ftp.linuxppc.org/install/g3installer.coff

Via HTTP: g3installer.coff.sit.hqx and g3installer.coff.sit. You'll need to hold
down the Option key to save these to your desktop.

Put it on a Mac-formatted floppy, and use boot variables to boot off
fd:g3installer.coff.

If you get a VFS error, you might have to install Linux with less than 64
megabytes of memory installed. After successfully installing Linux, you can
reinstall the RAM.

If you're not able to boot directly off your drive, you can try:

fd:g3installer.coff root=/dev/sda5 noinitrd

happy work, dieter
