Hello Everyone;
We all have at sometime, been attracted to the many packet messages
from someone called "Felix" using the callsign HB9ABX, posting messages
for more then a year about some fantastic super duper mobile "hf"
antenna, and offering to help people build it...only to be
directed to his website, where after a lot of double talk, and pictures
of this character with this contraption on the roof of his car.
First off..when I saw the pics, it didn't hit me as being something
I'd want on the car. I'd mostlikely be pulled over and ordered by
the police to secure it. Besides, there are commercial products
that are smaller and well those belonging to nets know these products
well enough...so Felix's antenna isn't so new, but a homebrew copycat
only too big and bulky for a car roof.
The second part of Felix's claims is those who have helped him.
NO callsigns, and via packet and other ways, NO One supports his
claims, nor has anyone shown up to say they have helped him.
The third part is, his pitch jumps all over the place, offering
help to those wanting to help his project, and then comes the
request for money. A sure sign, after all one reads, that this
person is using Amateur Radio to advertise, and make money.
I can not but wonder why after so many postings from Felix and
others, that anyone actually gave this character any money?
I am amazed, that sysops have allowed this character to keep up
his postings, and redirecting people to the Internet in order to
fleece them?
I read with greater saddness, that fellow amateurs have been
taken by Felix, and his racket. He is as reported, years ago now
using Ham Radio's packet mode to advertise and make money!
Buyer be warned! The only thing you will ever see now, is his
victims on packet crying the blues, that they were taken. To good
to be true claims, and people on here telling everyone should have
prevented all this...not to mention local authorities going to see
this person to stop him posting ads to ham radio packet.
