That is only true in an Open Universe, or Flat Universe, after 10 to the
97 years (according to Prof Stephen Hawking), and even then the leak of
particles and anti-particles from Black Holes will eventually annihilate
each other to create a Universe full of just photons and very cold, indeed
in the case of an Open Universe it would suffer 'heat death' as the
Universe continues to expand infinitely.

A Closed Universe would eventually return to a 'Big Crunch' which may or
may not be a 'Big Bounce', where another 'Big Bang' creates a new
Universe.

We will know which type of Universe we live in if cosmologists ever
determine the deceleration parameter of the Universe.

The Hubble constant of perhaps 60 km per second Mega parsecs per second,
would tend to suggest a critical density for the Universe of 6.7 x 10 to
the minus 27 kilograms per cubic metre (about the mass of four protons per
cubic metre). Any less dense than this we have an Open Universe, a Flat
Universe would only exist if the density equalled the critical density,
any denser and we have a Closed Universe.

However, as the Hubble constant is also awaiting an accurate measurement,
we should not hold our breath just yet.

Isn't the Open University such fun?
