Without quoting all of G0FTD's execellent bulletin, except this smidgeon:-

I recall many happy hours 20 or so years ago working through Oscar 10,
which had extended operating periods due to its peculiar Molniya type of
orbit. Pity it had its onboard equipment damaged by passing through the
Van Allen belt twice on each orbit. Although it might have been classed
as working through a mobile repeater, it was at times up to 40,000 km
distant and still workable with 10w and a 19 ele antenna from an FT-726.
(70cms up and 2 m down)

I have qsl cards from all 6 continents (yes, 6 including Antartica). What
a joy to hear a reply to a 'CQ Oscar 10' saying 'You are 5 and 9 in
Adelaide'! Regular early morning ragchews with expats in 7P8 land, chats
with a guy whose house overlooks the Golden Gate bridge in SF, giving
radio checks to a couple of JA's.

Oh! those were the days! Any chance of a return? I think not - its all
on the Infernalnet....

Kind regards all and
