Alpha is a comfortable >HAMWARE< Terminal program for the DSP Multimode
PACTOR-Controller PTC+, PTC-IIpro, PTC-II, PTC-IIe and PTC-IIex from
Special Communication System GmbH.
It is a 32 Bit Application for Windows 95/98/2k/NT/XP.
The following changes have been made to Alpha version 1.9b
- Arrangement of the Prefix and Suffix Field changed in Configuration
Manager / User Settings so CHECK SETTINGS IN THE FILE USERINI
- Correction of a problem in the Startup screen, which simply
stuck sometimes.
- Access violation removed when trying to initiate a connect.
- Filters added for "Software", PACTOR III" and "TRX Frequency" in
the Connection book.
- Filter settings in the Connection book are saved now.
- Added the HEX Attribute in the Channel Manager.
- Revised the Channel Manager and removed bugs.
- Channel Manager is only available with PTC-2 and PTC-2pro Modems.
- Different Packet Radio and HF Callsigns can be used now.
- Firmware Update Routine was revised.
- Information window is displayed, when *.eng or *.ger files are found.
- After the Firmware update the Startup Files can be loaded immediately
so you are on air at once again.
- A 1 A comprehensive Online help was added.
(launch in Menue - Help - Show Help...) that is why the file
"handbook.rtf" is no more existing from now on. Many thanks to
Michael, DK5MH for his support!!!
- New Makro %ptctyp% addd.
- PTC-IIex Support added. (for more information: www.scs-ptc.com)
- Shutdown Screen can be switched off
(Menue - Options - Settings - Program)
- Automatic display of connected station's picture can be switched off
(Menue - Options - Settings - QSO-Info)
- Recording of "TO ALL" Clustermessages can be switched off.
(Menue - Options - Settings - Program)
- QRG display can be updated every 8 seconds.
- Exception error removed, which was frequently observed after shutdown,
when no controller was found.
It has been quite a while since the last Update has been released.
Now I finally found the time and felt like making some improvements and
expansions in Alpha. One of the most important reasons for this have been
the new PTC-IIex and Michael (DK5MH) who was willing to create a real
comprehensive helpfile. This helpfile is only available in German, because
up to now no OM has dared to do the translation.
I have to mention in this place, that the Alpha project is a second hobby
of my helpers and me.
I beg you, to ask questions to me by mail regarding the program only,
if all other sources of information did not help. I recommend to make
use of the Online-Forum, the bulletin "Alpha" in the Packet Radio Mailboxes,
and last but not least the "handbook".
In these Forums and in the handbook many questions are already answered
or could be answered. I'd like to see a communication between the users of
Alpha in these forums.
I want to thank Markus (HB9BRJ) who supplies us very reliable with the
MBO-CBK File and Werner (OE9FWV) for his support with the program translation.
Finally I wish you fun with the program and I hope you like the "new features
and mistakes". ;-D
Maybe there is somebody around who can contribute his skills
to the progress of Alpha...
...in this spirit I wish "all Visitors of the HAM-RADIO a good journey there
and a good departure home again and maybe meet you there!"
