as to how you could find a Product License Key for an application, in
the Win XP registry.

I have found the free Belarc Advisor utility
(http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html) most useful. It displays
in your Browser a detailed profile of your installed software and
hardware. It includes a list of installed Microsoft Hotfixes, Software
licenses, versions and product keys.

It runs on Windows 95/98/Me, NT 4, Windows 2000, XP and Windows Server
2003 and is compatible with IE 3 or Netscape 3, and higher versions.
Also runs on Opera, Mozilla, and Firefox.

Only 846 KB in size.
