This is the first I have heard of a ban on HF packet.. I think it is a bad
idea.. What is the reasoning behind that? If there is a ban Who will enforce
it? Sounds like a "ploy" to force people to the newer, more expensive digital
modes. The Vhf packet system here in VE1 is very underutilised, it is not
impossible that the operators may just pull the plug on it, if that happens
HF will be the only alternative for me. I know of some folks in the southern
US that have to use hf packet to access the packet network here in ve1 to get
mail and bulletins. Out dated mode?? What foolishness... next they will be
trying to ban CW!
