Ah, so. So all licensees will get a crack then? I had a listen around the
"new" part of the band. What I heard was lots of megawatt broadcasters. So
your average amateur may be able to operate there, but competing against
that power level?
I suspect the commercial broadcast stations will hang on till the last
months, with a few lasting until they have to move.
So your chances with less than full power into a proper aerial are
minimal. Things will evolve better as the years go by. However in the
short term...SPLAT!
Oh, I exepect there will be a new band plan as well? That will be up for a
haggle and discussion. How much band for each mode?
Tin bowlers every one? For the younger generation, a "tin bowler" refers
to the combat helmet of the '35 onwards time, WWII.
