Hello World!
Demise in packet?
User access with 1200 or 4800 bps?
Just have a look at HAMNET! An independent high-speed-IP-network with speeds
between 1 mbps and up to 75 mbps between all the automatic stations in
Germany and other countries in good old Europe. We are using cheap equipment
for 5.7GHz for distances from 10 km up to more than 100 km - the record is
304 km established by some italian hams ...
It is not just packet radio. We have FM-repeaters, D-STAR-repeaters, ATV, our
paging network and clubstations. Because it is all TCP/IP today the
possibilties are almost endless ...
So forget about complaining about 1k2, YAPP etc. Gor for HAMNET and use http,
ftp and have fun with at least 1 mbps and video conferencing with other hams
without pushing only one single bit through the internet. Use our own network
- HAMNET! Lets show the world what real hams can do - and like the ARRL says:
If everything else fails - Hamradio!
73!
