Since the current hot topic on packet is AGW and soundcard packet I
thought
I'd offer the following advice.
a)Switch on radio from cold and get "x" audio output level !
b)radio when "warm" keeps audio rx output level constant.
What does this mean ?
Audio output from your receiver MAY vary from cold start to warm start
and effect the AGW performance or other soundcard based software used for
data modes.
Trust me it does !
A rigs performance will vary - for instance my Icom H10SR handie varies
a LOT from cold start to warm start.
My other Icom handie doesn't.
So if you seem to be having inconsistent performance its worth checking
the
rx af o/p levels using the soundcard monitor such as that built into AGW.
It saves a lot of frustation ;-)
