There's no doubt about it that AGW performance can be stuffed up overtime
by various other programs that install various other DLL's associated with
the soundcard etc.
In my case the performance was killed after installing Audio Catalyst
(an MP3 creation program).
I've been driven to point of wanting to give up packet by this problem
but slowly and by stealth over many months and reinstalls I've found
the offending software.
Phew !
So be warned - it DOES happen !!
