Well i hope this advise help to work your Baycom with Bpq and AGW on 98 or
whatever. Everyone give advise but some cases unnes changes.
1. The new Pentuim 4 generation give problems with the serial ports yes,
because the volt is +-11.50. At the input of the Baycom you get more or
less 0.450 volts afer the diode. So now put external power but this does
not solve the problem comp.
2. The main problem after that is caused by the bios plug and play in
some cases you can't change. Well you can load Bpq and the rest but will
not work. Remove the serial port in System / Device Manager reboot the
computer. Remember that you have add external power to your voltage
regulator. The computer load the Bpq and Baydrv.vxd and now it is finding
new hardware and load the serial port back. Wow now it is working. When
you shutdown the computer and start it again does not want to work. So now
you have to remove the serial port every time before you can use the
Baycom. So you want to put the hammer in.
3. Pse don't do that do this:
If you want to replace the voltage regulator with LM7805, set your Bpq
settings and go to your Windows\inf folder select the Msport.inf and edit
well i switched all off with ; infront of all the settings being loaded.
then after Remove the serial port in the System device manager.
4. Now restart the computer and the Bpq and rest will be loaded but no
new harware will be found and no serial port loaded by Windows. That is
what caused the problen. start your winpack and wow it is working 100% and
the same with AGW Heee Ha !!!!
