This is a photo taken on 23 Nov 1984 during the last flypast by the
Shackletons of 35 Squadron in Cape Town on the withdrawal of them from
service.
1716 on the far side was later written off after a forced landing in
the west African desert while on a flight to England to take part in a
few Air shows.
I was the Air Electronic Officer (Master Signaller) in the lead
aircraft (centre)
