This was taken many years ago at Blackpool it is of a Seafire
Mk 47 fitted with a 2400hp RR Griffon 36.7 ltr V12 with 2 stage supercharger,
it had a 6 blade contra prop and was capable of 450 mph 500 going down
hill and could climb to 20,000 ft in under 5 min.
It was complete and I was allowed to sit in the cockpit, not a lot of room.
It was said it would never fly again due to rot in the main spar but 30
odd years later in 2004 it is once again air worthy all be it in the USA.
