VERY INTERESTING.

I could not help but wonder what on earth a series of picture files (7
Plus) associated with a title of "SHEEP.JPG" could possibly have to do
with "AERO" as a subject.

Having downloaded the said series of files I now know.

Quite surprising, but also very interesting.

Have the sheep been trained to recognise constraints with regard to
aircraft operations? (I wonder!!)

I did not see any "info" message regarding the content of this series.

ON THIS PARTICULAR POINT !

It seems that some of those people who send out multi-part messages do
provide an "info message", IN ADVANCE, that describes just what the series
will contain.

They also nominate just how many parts can be expected.

I see this as being good practice. (Pieter ZS6PVW does an excellent job in
this regard.)

Others don't seem to bother much at all.

Maybe some of the others who provide material of this nature could see fit
to provide advance information such as I have described.

I suggest that provision of information along the lines described will
tend to encourage more people to take an interest in downloading these
types of messages.

In my case I also point out that I am also less likely to want to download
a series of files when the total number of parts comes to more than about
24 or so.

I am sure that, where people send out information in the order of 30, 40,
50 or more parts, there is a high likelihood that not all parts will
arrive at many BBS's.

Thus any downloading of files under these circumstances is probably going
to be a complete waste of time and resources.

My feeling is that problems of this nature could be reduced if people
learned more about how to correctly and effectively reduce file sizes.
Surely, in most instances the picture quality would not be degraded too
much if this was done.

Anyway, keep up the good work.

Regards,

Ian
