Hello all AERO fans.
The next picture I am sending, is another one of a ATLAS CHEETAH D.
Country of origin: South Africa/France (ex Mirage III)
Manufacturer: Atlas aircraft corporation
Engine: SNECMA Atar 09K50C delivering 15 873 kg of thrust
Height: 4,5 m
Wingspan: 8,22 m
Max speed: 2 350 km/h
The aircraft is painted in a bright red, yellow, gray and black
colourscheme. On the tailfin it has the South African flag and underneath
a "2", that simbolizes it being an aircraft of Two Squadron. The SAAF's
serial number for this aircraft is 861.
This picture was taken just before the aircraft was due to get airborne
as part of the flying display during an Airshow held at the Waterkloof
Air Force Base in Pretoria, on the 24th of September 2004.
The camera used was a HP M307 PhotoSmart
(3.2 MP, 3x Optical and 5x Digital zoom).
