As far as my part of the country is concerned VHF propagation during this
summer has been almost non existent. There was one day where the band was
open all day on 6 but apart from that - practically nothing. 2 was no
better with unusual weather conditions putting paid to ducting. Some of
the digi boys made several contacts on that medium but SSB was unworkable
for most of the time. The weather charts have shown a great deal of
instability in weather patterns with troughs stretching right down from
the North affecting the West's weather conditions. Perth and further north
have had heat wave conditions with high humidity. Here in the south cloud
and distinctly cool weather.
