On 26 November 2007 the Swiss television station closed down its analogue
TV transmitters in most parts of the country. They have been replaced by
digital technology (DVB-T).

The Bantiger TV station (near Bern) that operated on channel E-2
(48.25/53.75 MHz) is among the transmitters which have been shut down.
Until this date it has prevented the use of the 50 MHz band by radio
amateurs in central Switzerland.

On the occasion of the Bantiger shutdown, the special event station HE6M
will operate during the next weekend. It will use the antenna system of
the previous TV transmitter at the Bantiger site.

Frequencies:
50.090 MHz (CW/A1A), 50.150 MHz (SSB/J3E)
