General information.
Laos, XW. The Thai group heading to Laos next week is in the process
of finalizing their plans. Team members include: HS1CKC, HS0GBI, HS0/
G3NOM, E21EIC, E20HHK, HS2JFW, E20NTS, HS9EQY, E20RRW, HS1KFV, HS1DN,
HS1LCC, HS0/KA3TDZ, HS0/SM3DYU and HS0/EA4BKA. They will be operating
as XW1HS from the River view Hotel in Vientiane from April 10 to 20.
Activity is expected on all bands from 70 cm to 160 meters on CW, SSB,
RTTY, SSTV, FM and Satellite. Suggested frequencies at Six is: 50.115

Ogasawara Isl., JD1. Japanese operators Yone, JM3FVL/JD1; Naga, JE5DTS
/JD1; Hide, JG4LSR/JD1; and Yuzo, JL4CVB/JD1, plan to operate from
Chichi-jima in the Ogasawara Islands, which are located 1000 kilometers
south of Tokyo. The group plans to arrive on April 28 and expect to be
QRV on 6 through 80 meters on SSB, CW, PSK31, RTTY, FM and AM. Unfor-
tunately they will be operating as portable stations vs. fixed stations
and can only run 50 watts. Equipment will include IC-761, IC-751A,
IC-706, IC-706mk2G, FT-817 with a Skydoor (Hentenna) for 50 MHz. The
team will be active until about 0900Z May 4. The group would like for
QSLs to go via the JARL QSL bureau, however you can send direct.

6 M Dxped with NA1CW, Tim, to Miquelon Island. FP/NA1CW, June 14-23:
24 hr 100w beacon 50.120 CW (+/- QRM): The beacon will be on and some-
one at the radio 24hrs a day. If and when the band opens, we will con-

Vatican, HV. Luca IW0DJB, writes; In occasion of the "Contest Lazio 50
Mhz" on April 20 2002 it will come activated the station HV5PUL from
the Pontifical Lateran University of Vatican State http://www.pul.it
Operations will start in the morning also in HF and VHF and will con-
tinue in the afternoon. Other operations in HF/VHF are scheduled for

Singapore, 9V. Mirek is now back in Singapore and has been granted
temporary authorization to operate 6 meters as 9V1XE. He'll be buying
a new radio and has been permitted to operate from 50080 to 50180, ex-
cluding: 50075, 50100, 50125, 50150 and 50175. His temporary permis-
sion is valid until June 30. He hopes to be able to extend the tempo-
rary authorization. There are a few other (9V) stations permitted to
