General information.
Niue Island, ZK2. Tom, DL2RUM, was originally scheduled to go to Midway
Island in early March, however because of changes on the island he and
Rudi DL7VFR, had to cancel. Rudi went to Hawaii and Tom went to Tonga
where he has been QRV as A35TL. He will go to Niue Island on Saturday
where he plans to be QRV as ZK2CW for 10 days. Activities are expected
on 6 through 160 meters, CW, SSB and RTTY with 100 watts. He hopes to
be able to upload logs to his web site at http://www.qsl.net/dl2rum.

Curacao, PJ2. The next DXpedition of DL7DF and crew will be to Curacao,
PJ2, between March 15 and March 30, 2002. These callsigns will be used:
PJ2/DL7DF (CW), PJ2/DL7UFR (SSB), PJ2/DL7UFN (RTTY & PSK31), PJ2/DL4WK
(6m). Emphasis will be put on the WARC and low bands. The team will
take four transceivers and two linears. Antennas will include a 5-ele-

Turks & Caicoc Isl., VP5. Jack, N2VW, has reserved his island QTH for
the CQ WW SSB DX Contest for October. He'll be joined by Frank, WA2VYA
as VP5T from the QTH of VP5JM. The two will do a multi-multi and hope
to pick up one more op. Look for activity from October 22-29. They will
be on CW, PSK31, WARC bands and maybe 6 meters before and after the
contest. QSL via N2VW. Direct with postage, bureau, email request for

Italy, I. Contest. Fifth Ciociaria Field Day 50 MHz - 2002. The Italian
Amateur Radio Association Section "Ciociara 03-02" organizes the fifth
Ciociaria Field Day 50 MHz Contest. Date: last July's Sunday (in 2002
it's the 28). Time: from 07:00 to 15:00 U.T.C. (eight total hours) Fre-
quency: 50 MHz. The band admitted is 50.080 to 50.090 only CW mode,
from 50.150 up SSB and CW mode. Category: 6A Fixed station - 6B Por-
table station. There is no distinction between single or multi opera-
tor, neither between Mode (SSB, CW, Mixed). How to call: CQ Field Day.
Reports: RS(T) + progressive number starting from 001 + full charac-
ters of your WW Locator (i.e.: 59 002 JO61AG). Detail: non Italian
station can only contact Italian stations. Scoring: 1 (one) point to
Km. Final score: the sum of Km. Log: We welcome your log an MS/DOS
formatted 3 and half inches floppy or via internet E mail to

lacking a signed summary sheet and/or arrived too late and/or incomp-
lete are considered control logs. Contacts with special callsigns, not
including the official Marconi special callsigns, are not allowed, such
as contacts with DX station clearly not taking part to the contest.
Prizes: The first in any category shoving at least 5 station will re-
ceive a prize, and also the first non Italian station; an nice remember
is given to second and third places. If you wish to receive results and
comment to your log, please include a SASE or visit the Web site
www.ik0zme.it/ Portable station must apply autonomous power supply
(i.e.: batteries); they can't be installed in permanent or semi-perma-
nent immovable properties (except campers, cars, tents etc); you're not

Nanibia, V5. Laurence "Flo" Howell KL7/G4DMA, writes; Will be QRV on 6m
from March 18 2002 till the end of the Month from Aris just South on
Windhoek Namibia signing V51/G4DMA
San Felix, CE0X. Dick K5AND, writes; Hi.... This is the final post on
our up-coming trip to San Felix. Should be QRV on 6 from Mar 15 thru
Mar 30. On 50 mhz, will beacon on 106 CW. When band opens, will move
to 145 for transmit and listen from 150-160; when things shut down,
will move back to 106. Please help us make more contacts by spreading
the word NOT to send grid info; the grid will be EG93WT, just for the
record.. Equipment will be 8el yagi on 40' boom (at 65' over the ocean)
with 3CX800 1KW amp; will monitor 28885 with IC-706 and 3el yagi. BTW,
we will be on all bands from 160-6. Check out the website at:

British Virgin Isl., VP2V. W0AW and N9COQ will be operating from Virgin
Gorda, British Virgin Islands from March 9th through March 15th, sig-
ning VP2V/homecalls. Operation is planned for 10-40 meters CW & SSB
with possible activity on 6, 80 and 160 6 meters. QSL all QSOs via W0AW
This will be a Vacation/DXpedition rather than a full time effort (read

US Virgin Isl., KP2V. W0AW and N9COQ will be operating during the pe-
riod of March 3rd - March 8th, there may be brief activity from a num-
ber of islands in the USVI (KP2/homecalls) St. Johns. QSL all QSOs via
