General information.
Denmark, OZ. Six metre/VHF meeting ! November the 3 rd. we will have
a 50 MHz meeting in Odense (JO55EI) Denmark. Arranged by the OZ50MHz DX
Bulletin & OZ6OM, in conjunction with the next days "Amatoer Traef Fyn"
(Denmarks largest rally) November the 4 th. The Six metre meeting pro-
gramme will be:
10:45 Meeting opens.
11:00 OZ50MHz Group - Annual General Meeting (members only).
13:00 Lunch break (in order to arrange lunch You must notify if You
want to participate to oz6om@qsl.net latest a week before).
14:00 OX2K talk and a few words about the resent XP1AB operation, by
OZ0J Joergen & OZ1FTU Soeren. (Held in Danish language, but
answers questions in both English and German. A/V materials is
primarely in English).
16:00 QRP talk by M1DUD/M5AEF Robin. (Held in English language).
17:00 Plenum discussion, share Your experiences from "The Magic Band"
18:00 Dinner break (in order to arrange dinner You must notify if You
want to participate to oz6om@qsl.net latest a week before).
19:30 ConDX on 50 MHz and what to expect, by OZ6OM Bjoern "Matt".
(Held in Danish language, but answers questions in both English
and German, most A/V materials is in English).
21:00 Expected end of the meeting.
Prices at lunch and dinner is not yet know but intention is low price.
We are able to offer free accommodation (Saturday to Sunday), in shared
quarters at the meeting site (bring sleeping-bag/blankets a.o.) or make
use at our 20 % discount at the nearby Hotel Scandic. Expect more info

easy accesable, from the freeway, rail and nearby IFR/ILS airport.

Ducie Island., VP6. should be the next new Entity to be added to the
DXCC List. The Pitcairn Island Amateur Radio Association (PIARA) has
applied to the IARU for membership and the closing date for voting is
15 November. If PIARA becomes a member society of the IARU, Pitcairn
will become a DXCC "Political Entity" and consequently Ducie Island,
which is separated from its "Parent" (Pitcairn itself) by 350+ kilo-
metres, will became a DXCC "Geographic Separation Entity". PIARA has
now announced that plans are complete for their expedition to Ducie
Island. VP6TC, VP6DB, VP6BK/JA1BK, JF1IST, JA1SLS, K9AJ, K5VT and
FO3BM will be active with a VP6 callsign to be announced when the
operation starts, i.e. at 00.00 UTC on 16 November. Activity is plan-
ned to take place on (160-6 metres) and on RTTY as well. Bill Avery,
K6GNX will be the pilot station, while the QSL manager (direct and
bureau) will be Garth Hamilton, VE3HO. Logs will be available at

Marquesas Isl., FO. (Update) SP9FIH and SQ9LR now expect to operate
from Nuku Hiva, Marquesas Islands between 24 October and 10 November.
Look for FO/SP9FIH on 6-80 metres SSB only. QSL via SP9FIH (Janusz

Micronesia, V6. Look for JE1LES to operate (on 20-6 metres CW, SSB,
RTTY, PSK31 and SSTV) as V63HJ between 22 and 28 October. QSL via home

Peru, OA. de OA/N6XQ. I am returning to Peru 15 Oct thru 8 Nov. The
first 3 days I will operate from Lima and will then head south into
OA5, and OA6. I will use the call OA?/N6XQ unless another OA is with
me and then we will use his call. Gear is an IC706 and a 3 el yagi. I
normally hangout on 110 and when the band is open, drop to 102. I am
aware of the 18Z and 23Z window to EU and will be looking for you.
There is a chance we may get into CP1 on the tail end of the trip. I

Cayman Isl., ZF. I'll be heading to ZF next week on Thursday, October
18 - staying on the island until Sunday, October 28. Will be QRV as
ZF2MU during that period with capabilities on 40 thru 6 (with primary
emphasis on 6!). Hope that the prop excitement of the past few days

Brazil, PY. AL PY2ZX, writes; Hi DXers friends, After several years
out of the air, PT7BCN came back life again into 6 meters band, fre-
quency 50.078 MHz. The transmittion is experimental and listeners re-
port are welcome to Mr. Luc, PT7WA, at pt7wa@matrix.com.br The beacon
located in the State of Cearah (PT7), on the North East Brazil. The 6
meters propagation to this part of Brazil can be diferent considering
the usuall paths to the South or event the North part of country. The
another 6 meter propagation reference to North East DX is the PY0FF/B
in Fernando de Noronha Island. Congratulations Luc and FORDX, Forta-
leza DX Group, for the 6 meter activity. The very firts reports came
from e-mail reflectors informs very good signals copied in south part
of Brazil, in Rio Grande do Sul State (PY3)! The lastest news is about
the Contest DX meeting that will placed in 'Praia do Leste' in Parana
State (PY5) shore next weekend, very near the top world VHF PY5CC sta-
tion. This great event is the largest in Brazil, promoted by Araucßria
DX Group, LABRE Parana Amateur Radio Federation and ARPA, the Parana
Amateur Radio Association. The Meeting have one interesting schedulle
of events, including a visit to PY5EG contest station in Curitiba City
DXers from all part of Brazil will be in the meeting this weekend. For

University (Vatican City State) will be active on november 6 2001
during the Academic Open Year Journey (Dies Accademicus). Operations

during the station mounting and after the 6 November withe calendar to

Central America and zone 24, 25 and 26 has started, yesterday and today
October 07/08 2001, we had two very good opening with Japan, I worked a
total a 38 stations in the two days; the time for both opening was
12:48 to 13:30 UTC and signals were between 53 and 59+20. The stations
active from Venezuela were (as far as I know): YV1DIG, YV4YC, YV4DDK,
YV5LIX During all this month I will be QAP between 12:00 and 14:00 UTC

Tuvalu, T2. "Team Tuvalu" consisting of Ono/JH7OHF/AH6G (a member of
K5K), Ted JJ1LIB/N1GO (a member of 5T5U/S07U), Hiko/JN1HOW/AH6PW (a
member of 5T5U/S07U) and Mano/JQ1KNH/W6KNH are pleased to announce the
following "big DXpedition for the world DX lovers". "Team Tuvalu" ex-
pects to make huge amount of contacts from T2-land, especially on 160
m for Europe and the East Coast of USA, and on 6m for Europe by long-
pass opening. Operations will take place between November 1-8th,
using the callsigns T20T or T22T (on HF) and T20SIX (on 6m). Activity
will be on 160-6 meters SSB/CW/RTTY. They plan to have three stations
on 24 hours a day. Equipment: IC-756PRO+AMP, two TS-570G+AMP, FT-920+

Burundi, 9U. Gus, SM5DIC, Write: Hi, I will go back to Burundi the 16
of November. The ARCT buro promise me to have my 9U5D license renewed.
This time I will bring a 50 MHz 3 el Beam with me and also 17 el for
144 MHz (EME). Rig will be same as last time, IC-706 MK1 and a PA for
144 MHz of 400W. It will take me some weeks to set up QTH including
