Scotland, GM. I will be on 50MHz from IO66 (Isle of Mull) for the two
weeks from 6-18 August, and will try to be specially active in the Per-
seids on SSB/CW. Callsign on 6m will be GM5RP. The station is only 100W
to a 3-ele, and the takeoff to the south is poor. Also it's a family
holiday, not a DXpedition, so sri NO SKEDS. Preferred frequency for MS
CQs will be 50.165. I will TX the odd minutes ("second" periods) with
breaks on the 15 sec. Modes will be SSB or normal CW - sri no HSCW. On
other propagation modes I'll use the usual frequencies, or .165 for
blind CQs on odd minutes. I'll try to announce myself on the KB3CWS
chat reflector when QRV. No guarantees, but hope to work some of you!

Ghana, 9G. Dick K5AND, writes; This is the first alert on our up-coming
trip. Arliss, W7XU, Ed, W0SD and I (K5AND) will be operating from Ghana
West Africa from Friday, Oct. 26 until Sunday night, Nov. 4. We will be
in the city of Elmina, about 100 Km southwest of Accra. This is a
coastal (beach) location, so that should help. Grid square is IJ95. We
will be taking two FT-100D's, a 3CX800 amp, a 7 element 27' antenna and
a 25' rotating mast. We will also have HF equipment (100 watts) for
28.885 and 14.345. Of course we will have a beacon-mode keyer etc. Not
sure about Internet yet, but it is probable. Beacon frequencies etc.
will come later. Plane tickets are in hand, help from members of Ghana
Amateur Radio Society has been secured and preparations are well under
way. Comments and suggestions are welcome (please respond direct).
