                             General information.

Estonia, ES. Kent SM0ELV, writes; During the IOTA weekend I will be qrv
as ES/SM0ELV from KO29gn, Naissaar Isl, hopefully from 27-29 July qsl
via hc. 73 de Kent SM0ELV

Venezuela, YV. YW1F will be active from Cayo Sombrero, which was not
activated before, during the Venezuelan Navy Day 2001 from Jul 20-24.
Activity takes place on HF and 6m. QSL via bureau. (QSP de DXNL #1251)

Netherlands Antilles, PJ2. Ian M0BCG writes; Hi all. I just had confir-
mation back from Wilf, M0WLF who is part of the Bristol contest group
based in UK, who are going to PJ2 - Curacao [Netherlands Antilles] for
2 weeks stay from 19th July onwards, will be setting up and operating
a 6M station. Main operators are PJ2/M0WLF Wilf and PJ2/MOAXF Niel. At
a meeting of the group last night [Thursday 12 July], Wilf asked upon
the 6m fraternities behalf about the possibility of taking and opera-
ting 6m equipment as well as hf, it has been discussed and they are
taking 2 FT-100 transceivers with them from here in the UK, of which
one will they will use for 6m activities ... the CCC [carribean con-
testing consortium] website http://asgard.kent.edu/ccc/ lists a 5 ele
6m cushcraft yagi as being on site, but doesnt say if erected yet, not
a problem I guess to sort that out if not erected, so long as its
there !. The contest group are participating from above site in the hf
iota contest as PJ2Y that is main reason for the visit to Curacao.Look
   here for info http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/g3xsv/bcg.htm
qsling for 6m will most likely be via homecalls [any changes will be
posted] and not via PJ2Y manager, this is 2 separate things. There are
9 operators going, some also good cw operators who may use the 6m equip
ment if required at various times. Hope they have a safe journey and
more than that, hope many 6m operators around the globe have a chance
at working them. This is not an out and out 6m expedition, but there
are at least 2 keen 6m users going, who are listed at top of page. They
are well aware of 6m pileups and will work split if needed, no beacon
but will place CQ calls on 50110 at times, and also monitor band as
much as they can. They will give as much time as they can allow for 6m
band use. They will also have limited internet access but no info at
present. CU in the pileups i hope, GL. 73 Ian M0BCG

Denmark, OZ. Look for Willy, DJ7RJ to be active (on 80-6 metres SSB

Sweden, SM. Eric SM1TDE, writes; DX-pedition to square JO98oa. Weather
depending, an attempt to activate this rare square will be made from

operate from the northernmost point at Färö Island (situated north of
Gotland.) To get into the square we need to place the antennas about
10 meters out in the Baltic Sea, this will be a bit tricky but not
impossible! We also need to carry all equipment about 700 meters from
the closest parkinglot to the operatingsite because it is located in
a area of conservation (we are currently looking for a lightweight
generator...) We will be active on 50, 144 and 432 MHz, with SM1WZV
and SM1XDQ operating SSB/FM and SM1TDE CW/SSB/FM. (Note NO MS planned)
