General information.
Belize, V31. Ken W9GA, QSP's follwing; Hi, Here is some info regarding
Dennis R. Perry, W7AV, who will be on a 6 M expedition to V31 next week.
Yes, in Belize from June 22 to 29th. I will listen and TX on 50.110 +/-
any spurs or what I come across there. I will be using a 2 element quad
and 100 watts, CW or SSB. I will get my V31 call when I arrive in Belize
City on the 21st than go to Ambergris Caye on the 22nd. I will not have
any email or Internet while there. Rick, W7AV
Iceland, TF. Limited QRP operation in TF: I'll be on a camping holiday
in Iceland (TF/G4PCS/P) from 30th June to 12th July inclusive. I'll be
travelling each day, and over the holiday will go through quite a few
squares, with GPS for accuracy. Radio time is going to be VERY limited
(due to holiday schedule and limited power availability), and also VERY
QRP (FT817 on internal battery power, 6m dipole). Please don't be upset
if I'm not heard at all... it's a real possibility ! Best bet for a
contact is if there's propagation during TF evening time, after the
day's camp is established. Having just one contact would make my day!

Beacon Support - EA/CT/ZB. A QSP from Arne SM7AED, says; 48250 Madrid
(Navacerrada) TV is scheduled to QRT 31 July 2001. We all know how important it has been to us as an indicator. Jose, EH7KW, has spent the
past year organizing a group to put a 'replacement' 6 meter beacon on
the air from EA/CT/ZB. He has contacted a group of CT amateurs who have
found an accessible high elevation site with AC power and a tower. They
have been in touch with their licensing authorities and have a call and
a frequency assigned. While 250kw is difficult to replace, they plan to
direct maximum erp toward north and Central America. Several amateurs
have pledged financial support. More is needed. Most important, keyer/
rig/antenna equipment is still needed. There have been no volunteers
for these. This note is a request to all of you to help in any way you
can. I am not a go-between for this project. If you can help or if you
have further ideas, please contact Jose, EH7KW directly ea7kw@arrl.net
This is NOT a secret project. Spread the word.
Svalbard, JW. Tom, LA4LN will be operating as JW4LN from Spitsbergen
and Bear Island on 6-23 July. He will be active during his spare time,
mainly in his evenings and when time permits. Look for him on 40, 30
and 20 metres CW, and on 50110 kHz +/- 10 as well. Some activity on
RTYY and PSK-31 is also possible. QSL direct to LA4LN (Tom V. Segalstad
P.O. Box 15 Kjelsas, N-0411 Oslo, Norway). Tom reports that postal
rates will suffer a 25% increase effective 1 July and from that date
one green stamp will not cover the postage for one QSL card from
Norway any loger. [TNX LA4LN] (QSP de 425 DX #527)
Brazil, PY. Look for PU1NEZ/p (Carlos), PY1AMF/p (Martins), PY1LVF/p
(Zeca), PY1NEW/p (Pete) and PY1NEZ/p (Lima) to be active (on 80-6 m.
CW and SSB) from Frances Island (WWL GG97) on 5-8 July. QSL PY1AMF/p
via PY1NEZ, others via home call either dircet or through the bureau.

QSL via KM6HB either direct or via the bureau. (The Daily DX via SMIRK)

Faroe Islands OY from July 20 to August 8. He will be QRV on all bands

"Voodoo" by God Smack I am going back again to Guadeloupe. Fly down
June 29, hope to be QRV that evening. QRV June 30, July 1 and 2. Fly
back to the states July 3. Running 100 watts, 5 el M2 at 50 ft. aimed
stateside and a 4 el Quad on Europe. Will CQ cw/ssb 50.108 or 50.118

there. Good luck to all who need FG on 6M ! - Jon N0JK

East Timor, 4W. 4W6MM Thor, 4W6MM, reports he is back in Dili, East
Timor. Look for bigger signals now as he has installed the C3SS at 150
feet along with a 6 meter beam. The HF beam is fixed on the US and the
6 meters beam is fixed on Japan. The Emtron DX-3 is now on line and
that should add a few db to his signal. Look for activity on 10 through
20 meters. He does not have any low band antennas up at the moment.
Thor says, "There is a BC station close by, which creates enormous
problems so don't really expect 40 at least for a while." You can
expect some RTTY activity soon after Thor sets up his computer. Typi-
cal operations from 4W6MM are after work for a few hours in his spare
