Iceland, TF. The 6 m beacon TF3SIX on 50.057 MHz got a new QTH Jan. 12
it is now just outside of Reykjavik in HP94BC. The beacon is sending
   TF3SIX TF3SIX TF3SIX QTH HP94BC for ca. 25 sec. and then 6 sec. rest
until it start again. I am using Yeasu FT-690RII giving ca. 12w out on
CW in to 2.8 dBi GP so ERP is ca. 22W. This new QTH is on my working
place so I can take good care of it. 73's de TF3GW Tor tf3gw@amst.org

Bruce already has antennas on the island and will be using a Yaesu
FT-847 for SSB and CW. He'll be working on the island and will operate
in his spare time. Plans are to participate in the ARRL CW DX Contest

Comoros, D6. Five Star DXers go to D68 - Bulletin No.4 From the fourth
bulletin, with news of our forthcoming D68C DXpedition to the Comoros
(active from about 8th to 28th February). Less than four weeks to go!
We are all looking forward to our expedition, and hope the DX world
will be looking out for us in force. We understand that our container
of equipment has now reached Mombasa in Kenya, and should be headed to
Moroni in the near future. Now we are working hard on the detailed
logistics of what happens when we get there! Just in case there should
be any doubt, this expedition will be one of the biggest ever! By the
way, according to the latest DX Magazine poll, D68 has moved up around
10 points in the rankings for each of the major areas of the world,
which reinforces our wish to make a big effort from the Comoros !
Preferred Operating Frequencies at 50 MHz - 50.102 CW, 50.145 SSB.
Also 6m beacon 50.090. We will nearly always work split frequency and
will regularly announce the frequencies on which we are listening. We
will only make contacts on our transmitting frequency during the last
few days of the DXpedition if the pile-ups have disappeared. Listen
to the operator carefully. Each has been briefed to give the D68C
callsign at least after every two QSOs and to announce the listening
frequencies every five QSOs. We will not work by numbers; we feel that
with good ears and equipment this is quite unnecessary. Sponsorship.
We are delighted to thank the UK Radiocommunications Agency (broadly
equivalent to FCC in the USA) who have joined the list of D68C spon-
sors, as have a number of prestigious DX Clubs and Foundations, along
with a number of individual sponsors. Full details appear on our Web
pages. Nevertheless, further sponsorship continues to be sought, espe-
cially from DX groups and Foundations, to help with the high cost of
shipping some 3 tonnes of equipment to D68, along with a number of
other logistical matters. We have now mailed our colour brochure to
over 150 DX Clubs. If you are involved with a DX Club which has not
received a copy, please contact Steve G4JVG (below). Sponsorship is
being co-ordinated by the following: US: Wes W3WL (blamboley@aol.com)
Japan: Taizo JA3AER (arakawa@sakuranet.co.jp) Rest of the World: Steve
   G4JVG (g4jvg@cwcom.net) Our treasurer John G3WGV (g3wgv@aol.com) will
be pleased to accept donations. Web Page. The D68C Web Page continues
to be updated with the latest news. To remind everyone, the URL is

will be doing some traveling in This Month.. I will be in Guantamo Bay
(KG4) and also portable TI6 (grid EJ89) I dont have the specific dates
But I will first get on 28.885 and anonunce That I am active from that
specific Country... This is a 50 /50 chance So thats why I will call
first on 885. GUD LUCK and HAPPY DXing de WP4O Ed.

Guantanemo Bay, KG4. & Costa Rica, TI. Aditional information from K2RTH
Bruce; Ed WP4O, who now resides in Miami (do not send his QSLs to Puer-
to Rico, will take long time), is leaving on business the 2nd week in
January for Gutanamo Bay and Costa Rica. He will be in KG4 the 2nd &
4th week of January, and the 3rd week of January in TI6. Ed hopes to
operate from the club station in KG4 and is bringing with him his new
Yaesu 817, 5 watt multiband radio, and a dipole antenna. Ed is going to
concentrate on six meters, any other activity will be incidental. Call
signs for both countries is not known at this time and all operation is
subject to his business duties coming first. This is not good time for
F2 but maybe some Es, and carribean is excellant location for Eu/NA
prop at any time. 73, Bruce K2RTH.

   UN HQ. 4U1UN on 6 Meters on Wed Jan 3rd. Fritz DL4TT, Ken WB2AMU & I
visited 4U1UN to assess their 6 meter prospects. They do not have a 6m
radio or antenna but Ken was able to use their multi-band dipole with
his FT690 to make at least 1 cw 6m contact with Mario K2ZD. The loca-
tion is quite noisy but it's on the 40th floor on the top of the UN
building so location seems ideal for VHF/UHF if we can overcome the
noise. We hope to get a 6m radio for them & at least a small fixed yagi
on the roof for starters to give them a feel for 6m operations. We'll
let you know about future operations. Dave K2SIX. (QSP de SM7AED page)
