General information.
St. Martin FS / St, Maarten PJ8. Update. K2RTH Bruce, writes; Roger
N4ZC help arrives today Oct. 21 and they go to the French side of the
island to build up the station there FJ/K4ZA. They leave Oct. 30 after
the CQWW, and operate 2 stns in CQ WW PJ8/N4ZC & FJ/K4ZA. They will
switch to six if asked even during CQWW ! As I understand though, se-
parate FJ & PJ8 six meter antennas wil be installed but only one radio
for six meters belonging to N4ZC which he brings back and forth to each
locatiion. 73 Bruce.
Austral Isl., FO0. SP9FIH and SQ9LR will be active (on 80-6 metres) as
FO0WEG from Tubuai, Austral Islands between 20 October and 4 November.
They will operate SSB and probably RTTY with two 100W transceivers, one
vertical antenna, one 3-element tribander and one 5-element for 6 me-
tres. QSL and donations via SP9FIH (P.O. Box 480, 44-100 Gliwice,

Nauru, C2. Due to heavy pre-Christmas airline traffic Air Nauru has
very few flights to select. This morning Air Nauru confirmed the fol-
lowing flights: Sydney-Nauru Sun 10th Dec and return Nauru-Sydney Fri
22nd Dec 2000. This gives me around 11 clear days of 50 MHz activity
as C21JH. Due to travel being in the peak season I am paying full fare
so any donations would be welcomed. Equipment will be IC-736 to 5 ele-
ment at 45 feet. Sorry, due to flights being booked out, there will be
no T30JH side trip! 73 de Jack (C21JH). VK2GJH Jack D. Haden

CW, 527 SSB, including 51 dupes) with 772 different stations. The W, S
and SE part of Europe was favoured (propagation-wise!): 340 I, 82 F, 69
DL, 64 U.K., 58 EA, 51 S5, 13 PY. The DX highlight was definitely YJ0DX

Antarctica, KC4. A QSP from W7GJ Lance. Bert KC4/WA1O, writes; KC4/WA1O
and 6m operation I've been getting a lot of encouragement from hams in
the states and worldwide. I am looking forward to putting Antarctic
grid squares "on the map" for folks. I will spend several days, early
in November at the U.S. station at McMurdo, then travel to Byrd Surface
Camp for several days, finally I will be on traverse for the remainder
of November, all of December, and returning through Byrd Surface Camp
to McMurdo (and eventually home to "W1" land by 15 January. I expect
to be able to get on the air most evenings between approximately 6 and
10 P.M. Christchurch, NZ time. (0500z to 0900z). Within those constra-
ints, I will do everything possible to "activate" as many Antarctic
grid squares and give the 6m community a crack at this rare corner of
the planet. When 6m propagation does not cooperate, I will most likely
be on 20 cw looking for DX and occasionally 20 ssb look for stateside
phone patches. Please QSL via my "manager" KA1CRP or direct (with SASE)
to my CBA. If you are interested in viewing our scientific progress and
seeing how we live on the ice, check out:

VP2ER. QSL to home callsigns; best direct with a SASE. Before and after
the contest, they will be on all bands 160-6 meters, SSB and CW.
(QSP de OPDX 481)
Cocos/Keeling Isl., VK9C. Wal/VK6KZ and Don/VK6HK will operate as VK9CZ
and VK9CK, respectively, next weekend from October 21st through Novem-
ber 4th. They plan to activate 50 MHz which will be their main interest
with 28885 kHz available for liaison. General HF operation will be a-
vailable, (50 MHz conditions permitting). If HF is used, look for them
on 28485, 21285 and 14185 kHz. Other HF bands may be tried if time and
antennas are available. (QSP de OPDX 481)
Jamaica, 6Y. Ron, 4S7RO, will be active on the air signing 4S7RO/6Y5.
He has moved to Kingston, Jamaica, and expects to be here for the next
two years. Also, his XYL, VU2MAB, will also be on the air from there
shortly. So, YL award hunters...watch out! (QSP de OPDX 481) (Shortend

St Maarten, PJ8 / St. Martin, FS. Update Roger N4CZ writes; 6 m gets my
priority whenever it is open for DX. Even during CQWW, if I find that 6
is open to Europe I'll stop the contest and go to 6 m. I'll be putting
up a 6 m beam at each location so I only need to carry my IC-746 from
one side of the island to the other to operate as FS/ or PJ8/. It looks
like the solar flux will be above 200 soon after I arrive ... I've got
my fingers crossed! 73 Roger, N4CZ.
Comoros, D6. From the second bulletin, with news of our forthcoming
D68C DX-pedition to the Comoros. Firstly, many of you will have heard
Don G3OZF operating as D68/G3OZF while on a survey trip for the D68C
operation. Don did some invaluable work in getting everything lined up
for our operation, and also reported that the pile-ups were huge, de-
spite the fact that he was running barefoot to a simple vertical. The
D68C Web Page is now up and running, and looking great. Check the site
at www.dxbands.com/comoros Six Metres. We will be making a major effort
on 6 metres with two stacked 5 element beams located very close to the
sea with an excellent take-off to all parts of the world. Mike G3SED,
Kazu JA1RJU and Rob PE9PE are all six metre specialists. We hope for
great results on the magic band. New Team Members, since the last bul-
letin, the following have joined the DXpedition team: Tim G4VXE, a
technology wizz, Yoichi JP1NWZ, an all-rounder, and Rob PE9PE. Rob will
be especially welcome to 6 metre, VHF and satellite operators. The ex-
pedition will take place over the period of roughly 8th to 28th Febru-
ary 2001. Don Field G3XTT, NK1G g3xtt@lineone.net D68C Publicity Off.

least one week depending on propagation. 6 meters is only objective of
trip. He will be running 100 watts and 5 ele yagi. The call sign will
be the new one obtained for this trip FO0SIX. He has no internet at
home but wishes to be called if there is an opening when he is in Moo-
