General information.
Egypt, SU. F8OP Georges, writes; SU trip. On 16.07.2000, Daniel, F1GTU
left France to Egypte for 3 monthes, with his 6 meters transceiver and
a 6 meters dipole. He will try to get a licence from the SU authorities
He will meat SU1ER or SU3AM and ask them for help or advices. More

Honduras, HR. Joe Pater, W8GEX, will be going to Roatan Island off the
coast of Honduras. He will arrive on Sunday August 13th and will be ac-
tive as HR6/W6GEX through August 18th. Look for him on 6 through 40
meters SSB. On 6 meters he plans to monitor 50125. QSL via W8GEX with

Canbodia, XU. Spanish operators Toni, EA5RM, and Pedro, EA7DBO, will be
active as XU7ABD from Sihanouk Ville in the southern part of Cambodia
in October. A request was submitted for 6 meters, however authorities

Cyprus, 5B4 & ZC4. Dez, G0DEZ, will stay in the country until 2003 and
hopes to get his 5B4 and ZC4 licenses as soon as possible. QSL via

Palenstine, E4. Guenter, OE1GZA, was expected to operate this past Sa-
turday as E4/OE1GZA if propagation was good. However, it looks like it
did not happen. There were no QSNs reported. Arie, 4X6UO, informed OPDX
that 6 meters is definitely not allowed in Palestine at the moment (The

Asiatic Russia, UA9. First the good news: Fedor, UK9AA, recieved with
my help the IC-726 sponsored by DJ6XV and is now qrv on 6m (for the
time beeing only with 10 wtts). Lets hope the condx in Central Asia are
improving within the next days/months! Tnx again to DJ6XV for his great

Kazakhstan, UN. Bad news: UN7IY is an Pirate! I visited Aktjubinsk in
NW-Kazakhstan and visited also the OM with this callsign. He can not
work on 6m because he is running an old Sowjet-style TRCV which allowes
only to work up to 21 MHz. I have seen some inverted-V antennas but now
Yagi for 6m arround! Additional on Channel 1 is working a strong local
TV-Tx so that it is impossibel to work during the "normal" TV-times
(this part of Kazakhstan is -5 hours behind GMT) on the magic band. So
sorry for all which worked this station (I'm included, hi or sorry). I
hope I could clarify the situation on behalf of the 6m-family! Good DX

Grand Cayman, ZF. I'll be traveling to our family home on Grand Cayman
Nov 16, and with luck will be QRV in the late afternoon that day sign-
ing ZF2MU. My intentions are to be active every day with major emphasis
on 6M as was the case with the Barbados trip in early July,with shut
down mid-day Nov 23. Hopefully,the sun will co-operate and provide some
F2 propogation. Will use 50.095 CW for CQ'ing with frequent visits to
28.885 for updates as I'll not have the luxury of internet connection

French Polynesia, FO. Dom, F6DRO, announced to operate from Tahiti
running 100 watts into a 5 ele beam especially on 6m from Aug 5-31.

Cape Verde, D4. Andy, DL7ZZ, DL4JS and DK8YY are active on 6-160m from
Senegal until Aug 6. They will then go to Cape Verde but they are not

Tunesia, 3V. The TS7N activity for the Kerkenah Islands [425DXN 463]
is confirmed to take place between 15 and 30 November. A team of 12
German amateurs, plus JH4RHF, I2DLS and IT9ESZ will operate on all
bands (6 metres included) and modes. They will participate in the CQ
WW DX CW Contest (Multi-Single). QSL via DL6BCF (Britt Koester,
