Hello programmers,
COLOURS2.ZIP contains two small demo programmes that I wrote while looking
into ways of writing text direct to the video memory in graphics mode. The
reason for this was to get greater speed in putting text on the screen.
The first posting was in August of last year. I still haven't found out
how to change the colour for direct video writing; it only uses the colour
in palette 15. (Any suggestions will be gratefully received.)
These new versions have a few minor changes and supercede the previous ones.
The graphics mode programme COLOUR-G.EXE, should work equally well in DOS
or any of the windoze versions. The text mode version COLOURS.EXE, may have
problems running in win xp. There is some assembler code from the programme
in the help page. Hope you find these demo programmes useful or interesting.
As usual, there are no guarantees or warranties for these programmes.
Use them at your own risk.
