Hello Dick and readers,

Thanks for the list Dick. Your copy of 'Reference Data For Radio Engineers'
is obviously different from mine. My one is the 4th edition, published by ITT.
What does your book have to say about the stainless steels?
Interesting number for nickel Dick. My book says it's 5.05 times the
resistance of copper, the number in your book is 4.02 times.

I've found another listing in my Machinery's Handbook for chromium. There
it says it's conductivity is 16% of silver. That makes it fairly close to
the 12.2% of copper figure from the encyclopedia. I have a Russian book
titled "Tales about metals" that says about chromium at 37 C, quote :-

"Many of it's properties change drastically, by leaps and bounds"

and later :- "A sudden change also occurs in the electrical conductivity"

Unfortunately, no numbers are given. So it seems that both the high and low
numbers for the conductivity/resistance may be right. Depends upon what
temperature the measurements were taken at. I'll have to investigate more!
